Date nights can be a little nerve-racking, especially when you’re having trouble deciding where to eat or what to do! To help you guys out, I’ve put together a list of my favorite restaurants, places to go, and some fun ideas your partner will love.
Restaurants
New York is so diverse when it comes to food; with eating out, there’s so much to choose from! Cipriani, Bar Pitti and Gran Morsi are my favorite Italian restaurants in the city; tasty, al dente pasta and wonderful service. Dorrian’s and Butter both serve delicious American food; classics with a relaxing ambiance. If you want steak, Wolf & Lamb is one of the best — their menu is kosher and the setting is romantic. Fig & Olive is a yummy Mediterranean restaurant, and Avra Madison is my favorite spot for Greek.
Ice Skating
The Rink at Rockefeller Center is open daily from 8:30am to Midnight, until April 26th! So if you get a chance, you should definitely take advantage of it. One of my guy friends took me ice skating recently and I suck; I’m not the best skater in NY and he knows that too. Nonetheless, we still had an amazing time and it was cute.
Broadway Show
Broadway dates are the best; they’re so entertaining and romantic! Mean Girls and The Lion King are my personal favorites, but there are a ton of others that are romantic.
Wine Tasting Tour
Wine Tasting Tours during the summer at vineyards in the Hamptons is so magical and fun! Thankfully, there are a ton of wine tasting tours happening in NY year round.
Hotel Staycation
A posh suite with a skyline view, champagne and room service, and your lover is heaven! If you want to go all out and relax, there are a ton of packages you can book that includes a couples massage. The Lotte New York Palace and Four Seasons are the best hotels in Midtown; very elegant. JW Marriott Essex House and The Ritz-Carlton has a breathtaking view of Central Park and incredible amenities. As a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite, the service is exceptional; they always go above and beyond for me! A couple more of my favorites include The Plaza (so iconic), The St. Regis on Fifth Avenue with enchanting rooms and The Mark Hotel on the UES, if you don’t want to be in the immediate city.
Dinner under the Stars
Dinner can be a little cliche sometimes! But, dinner under the stars AND on a yacht? Groundbreaking! If you don’t have one (no worries), Hornblower NY has dinner cruises at a reasonable price. Three hours around the city with a three-course meal, dancing, a bar and views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Brooklyn Bridge & more!
Opera House
The Metropolitan Opera, located on the UWS, is a beautiful theater with classic performances. This was my parents go to spot for date nights and they always loved it.
Sports Games
As much as I love getting glammed up for a night out, I enjoy cheering on my favorite teams just as much! Hockey and Baseball are the only sports I really enjoy. So when a guy takes me out to see my favorite teams, NY Rangers and the Yankees, it warms my heart.
Double Date with Friends
Double Dates are so much fun, especially if it’s with your best friend or his! In relationships, it’s usually the girlfriend wanting to do double dates, so why not suggest it first? Some fun double date ideas are Golf Manhattan, going bowling or getting a table at Catch or Tao.

My Husband and I live in NJ within 30 min of NYC. I love traveling into the city and really want to take my Husband on a date there, but never know where to go. We are going to have to try a few of these ideas out. I especially like the idea of dinner under the stars.
